This policy explains what personal data we collect through giveagift.vip, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We handle personal data in accordance with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
1. What we collect
- Your details: name, email address, phone number, billing address, and your account password (stored encrypted — we can never see it).
- Recipient details: the name, phone number and delivery address of the person you are sending a hamper to, plus whether it is a home or company address and any opening hours you give us.
- Order details: what you bought, the amount, the currency, your payment method and your order history.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics.
- Support messages: what you send us via WhatsApp, email or the website chat assistant.
We do not collect or store your card or online banking credentials. Payments are handled by the bank or by the payment provider directly.
2. Why we use it
- To process, pack, deliver and track your order — including giving the recipient’s name, address and phone number to our driver or courier so the hamper can be delivered.
- To verify your payment and issue receipts.
- To create and manage your account, and to let you log in.
- To answer your enquiries and handle complaints.
- To send you order notifications, and — if you have bought from us — an occasional review request or festive offer. You can opt out at any time.
- To keep accounting records and comply with Malaysian law.
- To improve the website and prevent fraud or abuse.
3. Recipients’ personal data
When you give us a recipient’s details you confirm you are entitled to share them with us for the purpose of delivering the gift. We use those details only to deliver the hamper and to contact the recipient about that delivery.
4. Who we share it with
- Delivery partners — our own drivers and courier companies (for example J&T, Pos Laju), who receive the delivery name, address and phone number.
- Payment and banking providers — to verify payment.
- Service providers — our web host, email service, analytics provider, and the AI provider that powers our website chat assistant, which processes the message you type in order to answer it.
- Authorities — where we are required to disclose data by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Website chat assistant
Our website chat is powered by an AI service. What you type is sent to that provider so it can generate a reply. Please do not enter passwords, card numbers or other sensitive information into the chat. For anything involving your order details, contact us on WhatsApp instead.
6. Cookies
We use cookies to keep your shopping cart, remember whether you are viewing Malaysian or Singapore prices, keep you logged in, and measure site traffic. You can block cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout may then not work.
7. How long we keep it
Order and accounting records are kept for at least 7 years as required by Malaysian tax law. Account data is kept while your account is active. Chat and enquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry.
8. Security
The site runs over HTTPS, passwords are stored encrypted, and access to order data is restricted to authorised staff. Drivers can only see the orders assigned to them, and cannot see payment information. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
9. Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to stop sending you marketing messages. Contact us on WhatsApp (+60 10-918 9118) or at [email protected]. You can also view and edit your details, and reset your password, in your account area. Note that we must retain order records required by law even after an account is deleted.
10. Children
This website is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The version published on this page applies from the date shown below.
